Xxx forced gay prusion
Three years ago, the fresh man who would later be known as John Doe 1 shuffled into the Richard A. Handlon Correctional Facility in Ionia, Michigan. The town of 11,000 residents, which sits in the remote center of the state, houses five prisons, and over the years, it has earned the nickname “I Own Ya.” John, who was 17, had already gotten over the initial fear of going to an adult prison—he had spent several months at a county jail nearby Detroit and an intake facility in Jackson—but he also knew he would be spending longer at this lonely outpost, a minimum of three years for a couple of home invasions. It was still wintery in April, and his state-issued jacket was poor protection against the drafts coming through the broken windows, shattered by men who had passed through before. “It was pretty ragged,” he recalled recently, “a tear down.”
The rituals of intake were familiar. Standing in a line with several dozen other men, John stripped off his navy blue scrubs, squatted, and coughed to prove he wasn’t hiding anything. Once inside, he could endeavor grimacing to look tough, as he had in his early mugshots, though he couldn’t hide his skinny frame or his high-pitched voice.

Ex-inmates reveal details of Russia prison rape scandal
BBC News
Former inmates have spoken to the BBC about being systematically raped and tortured in Russian prisons. Leaked footage of such abuse was circulated by an insider last year, and now victims have told the BBC why it happens and how they are fighting for justice.

Saratov prison hospital, in south-west Russia, came to widespread attention last year when videos of horrifying prisoner abuse were leaked to a human rights organisation and reported on by the international media.
Alexei Makarov knew its reputation before he was transferred there in 2018 as part of a six-year sentence for assault. Prisoners who are sent to Saratov from other jails in the region hold complained that medical grounds were fabricated so they could be tortured behind closed doors. Russian prisons have almost no independent oversight, and prison hospitals - with their health quarantine rules - even less so.
Makarov was genuinely unwell - he had been diagnosed with TB - a
Former prisoners share their experiences of sex in prison
The Commission on Sex in Prison’s final describe, published today (Tuesday 17 March), features accounts from former prisoners speaking for the first day about their experiences of sex behind bars.
Sex in prison: Experiences of former prisoners is the fifth and last briefing paper published by the Commission, which was established by the Howard League for Penal Reform and includes eminent academics, former prison governors and health experts.
Recommendations from the Commission’s two-year inquiry will be presented today (Tuesday 17 March) at a conference in London.
The Commission sought permission to interview current prisoners about their experiences of sex in prison, but this approach was blocked by the Ministry of Justice.
However, Dr Alisa Stevens, Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Southampton, was able to interview 26 former prisoners during the summer of 2014 – 24 men and two women.
Her report concludes that a national survey of both the serving prison population and former prisoners, fully supported by but independent of the National Offender Management Service (NOMS), is “urgently required” to
On Friday, the Marshall Venture posted two prison orientation videos – one for incoming female inmates, one for incoming male inmates – which feature veteran inmates advising newcomers on how to avoid existence raped. The videos are to be shown to new inmates in all prisons in the express of New York.
The videos, currently available1 on The Marshall Project’s website, are startling. The tone is that of a welcome video, offering matter-of-fact, practical tips, while the subject is sexual violence.
But much of the reaction to the videos has focused on how unusual it is for New York to take this step – to openly declare that sexual violence in prisons is an carried on reality despite years of professed “zero tolerance” by the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS).
The videos also take an extraordinary approach to the material, by involving actual inmates in every step of the process. A former prisoner, T.J. Parsell, is the director. Current inmates workshopped all of the content before filming. These inmates are referred to as “the experts,” and interviews with them take up most of the running time.
Where there is criticism, it has focused not on what is in t
Indonesia: prison officials think inmates are "turning gay" after sleeping next to the same ex
If that’s the case, shouldn’t prisons be complete of gay people, since overcrowded conditions force inmates to sleep in cramped cells?
In 1973, the Australian and Modern Zealand College of Psychiatry Federal Council reported that homosexuality is not a mental disorder. Nearly fifty years after that monumental proclamation, some Indonesian officials are still hell-bent on “curing” LGBTQ individuals.
The latest bout of LGBTQ discrimination is ongoing in West Java’s prisons. District office chief of Indonesia’s Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Liberti Sitinjak, claims “deviant sexual acts” are becoming more rampant among prisoners in his area. This allegation is based on the revelation of same-sex relationships in detention centers.
Sitinjak believes over capacity prisons are to blame for the rampant homosexuality he’s observed. Inmates sleeping in cramped conditions, he said, has led to inmates catching feelings for one another. “Prisons and jails are overcrowded. In other words, due to this condition, their feet are touching, and their heads are touching, and their bodies are
