As Candace Cameron Bure geared up to promote her tenure as the recent star and chief imaginative officer of the newly formed Great American Family network, she sparked a wave of controversy by confirming that the channel would only feature “traditional marriage.” (Read: No homosexual couples.) It was a jarring but not entirely surprising stance from Bure who, like her brother Kirk Cameron, has well-known evangelical beliefs. Even her longtime Full House co-star, Jodie Sweetin, threw shade at Bure despite the two recently working together on the Netflix revival series Fuller House.

However, just as the controversy seemed to die down, performer Neal Bledsoe has announced his resignation from Fantastic American Family. Like Bure, Bledsoe has been a fixture in Hallmark holiday movies and was wooed over to Great American Family where he’s now starred in two films. In a lengthy utterance to Variety, Bledsoe made it very clear that he cannot continue to work with a corporation that actively discriminates against the LGBTQIA+ community:

As someone who struggled as a young man with our society’s extremely narrow definition of masculinity, it was their community that provided me with re

Standing up for his beliefs. Neal Bledsoe made waves with his universal statement that he would no longer work with Great American Media due to his support for the LGBTQIA+ community. “My life wouldn’t be where it is today without the love, support, and guidance of the LGBTQIA+ community. From my mentors in college, to the myriad of agents and managers, writers and directors, teachers and colleagues, and, of course, my valued friends and family, who have all touched my life, I owe them a great debt,” the 41-year-old actor said in a lengthy statement to Variety on Monday, December 5. “As someone who struggled as a juvenile man with our society’s extremely narrow definition of masculinity, it was their community that provided me with refuge and a guiding light when my life felt lost. And now, if I cannot stand up for that community in their day of need, my debt to them means nothing. So, I want to be very clear: my support fo

Danica McKellar Says She Does Not Accept With Neal Bledsoe's Interpretation of Candace Cameron Bure's Comments

Danica McKellar is speaking out following Christmas at the Drive-In co-star Neal Bledsoe's leave from the Amazing American Family network after Candace Cameron Bure shared that GAF will not highlight same-sex couples in their movies but instead focus on "traditional marriage."

While speaking to Fox News Digital at ChristmasCon on Saturday, McKellar said that while she supports the LGBTQIA+ community, she does not agree with Bledsoe's "interpretation" of Bure's comments.

"Neal is a wonderful person. He's such a great actor and I have enjoyed working with him so much. He and I both share our devotion and support of the LGBT society for sure… I don't agree with his interpretation of her comments. I just didn't watch them the equal way," the Wonder Years alum shared.

She continued, "[Bure] started the sentence with 'I think,' which is not definitive, and she ended it with 'at its core,' which doesn't mean exclusively. I don't agree with his interpretation, but I love him to death and I wish him well."

“The Pride” is an Olivier Award-winning compete written by Alexi Kaye Campbell, originally produced in London in 2008.

The story alternates between two time periods in London: the sexually repressed era of 1958 and the modern, hopeful period of 2008. Neal Bledsoe and Augustus Prew star as Philip and Oliver, two men grappling with identity and sexuality in these different time periods, all while dreaming of an straightforward life.

In 1958, they are unable to speak openly about being gay due to ultraconservative social norms. In 2008, they are a contemporary gay couple going through a downturn in their relationship right before the annual Event parade.

The show is now playing at The Wallis through July 9 in a production directed by Michael Arden and starring Neal Bledsoe, Jessica Collins, Augustus Prew and Matthew Wilkas.

When actor Prew first saw “The Pride” in 2013, it was around the same occasion he came out as gay.

“This engage for me is very important in my life,” Prew said on The Frame. “When I came out, when I figured out I was queer , I was about 24. And this play presented itself to me sort of through magic. It just sort of came at this very consequential time in my life. And it

Actor Neal Bledsoe is taking a stand against Wonderful American Family’s less than inclusive approach to holiday filmmaking.

Bledsoe, whose credits include “The Mysteries of Laura” and “Shameless,” announced Monday that he’ll no longer appear in films for Great American Family after Candace Cameron Bure, the network’s chief content officer, said viewers shouldn’t expect to see LGBTQ storylines in its Christmas movies.

“I cannot hold comfort from, nor will I give refuge to, those who excuse exclusion and promote division in any way, shape, or form,” Bledsoe said in a statement published by Variety. “Everyone is entitled to their beliefs, and these are mine: the recent comments made by leadership at Great American Family are hurtful, mistaken, and reflect an ideology that prioritizes judgment over love.”

Bledsoe can currently be seen in Great American Family’s “Christmas at the Drive-In” opposite Danica McKellar, but said he won’t promote the movie in light of the network’s stance on queer advocacy. Though he didn’t bring up Bure by name in his remarks, he pointed to “someone in an executive position speaking about deliberate exclusion on behalf of an entire network” as
