Twin Cities Pride hosting “Stronger Together” benefit concert and dance party to boost funds

There are lots of events in the Twin Cities and around greater Minnesota celebrating the LGBTQ+ community during Identity festival Month.

Here's a list of some of the highlights of Pride Month festivities, followed by a more comprehensive list down below.

June 7: East Central Minnesota Pride

  • When: June 7 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Where: Robinson Park, 200 Fifth Street Southeast in Pine City
  • What: East Main Minnesota Pride, sometimes called "the first rural Event event" in the region, celebrates small towns in Minnesota. They'll have performances in the afternoon as well as a Performative Queen story time. The event is tobacco, e-cigarette and alcohol-free.

June 7: Youth Pride

  • When: June 7 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Where: Como Park, 1199 Midway Parkway, St. Paul
  • What: A free event for young LGBTQIA+ people ages 13 to 22.

Featuring local BIPOC and LQBTQ+ vendors, food courts, a beer garden, harmony stages, and, starting in June, a schedule packed with events. Twin Cities Pride is something you don't long to miss.

    While there are plenty of awesome events and activities to trial during Pride, we want to craft sure you create the most of your time in Minneapolis. There’s so much to spot and do, and a single daytime just won’t slice it. Why not extend the celebration and make a weekend out of it?     History of Queer Pride in Minneapolis

    Beginning as just a picnic in Loring Park, Twin Cities Pride is now a multi-day festival celebrating more than 50 years in Minneapolis.

    Last year’s Minneapolis Pride Festival stretched from June 28 to 30 and totaled around 200,000 people in attendance, slightly more than the 50 people who showed up for the first 1972 event. 

    The first Minneapolis Gay Identity march took place to celebrate the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in New York. With 25 people marching down Nicollet Mall and 25 waiting in Loring Park to bail them out, a tradition began. 

    Activist group Objective City Coalition, aiming to combat conduct from antigay actress Anita Bryant, protected the Pride festival in the 1970s. Bryant targeted St. Paul to experiment to repeal an early gay rights ordinance. 

    Executive Director of the Twin Cities Pride Festival Andi Otto said though the pride festival is popular today, the support was not always there. 

    Otto said before the Loring Park picnic in 1972, the LGBTQ+ community usually found support secret in bars and clubs.

    Twin Cities Pride still short of funding

    Twin Cities Pride has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars since losing some corporate sponsorships, but they are still limited on funds. FOX 9's Leon Purvis has more.

    Pride Month is well underway, celebrating the LGBTQIA+ collective and its history of fighting for equality.

    Several communities throughout Minnesota are hosting events to cap the month off with festivities. A list of some can be found below.

    St. Paul Saints Pride Night

    Dress in your rainbow leading and come out to see the Saints receive on Louisville Bats.

    The game also coincides with its "Thirsty Thursdays" promotion, offering $2 beers and two-for-one Bud Light Seltzers.

    Pride Beer Dabbler 2025

    • June 27
    • Minneapolis Sculpture Garden; 6-9:30 p.m.

    Raise your glasses as Pride flags line the sculpture garden outside the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.

    The 13th annual Pride Beer Dabbler plans to offer more than 70 Minnesota breweries and cideries. Early-bird tickets are available, offering access at 5 p.m.
