You Don't Need Maps
I would like to dedicate this post to my animation, my love, and my happiness: the blink-155 podcast.
This is one of the worst record reviews I’ve ever read in my life, whether contemporary or retrospective. It has nothing to do with the author, Jeremy Gordon, who by all standards is a good penner, and everything to carry out with the culture of Pitchfork, as outlined by Dan Ozzi here, and the “eternal purity test,” as my friend David Anthony describes it here. David’s closing quote is perhaps the most illuminating:
"The kids who liked this music were told they were dumb, and that the things they liked were, too, so they just gave up and went all in with it. Is it really that hard to grasp why blink-182 decided to do the exact matching thing?”
blink-182 is a band that holds perhaps one of the most prime spaces of mental and emotional real estate within me. I’ve often said that they are in my top 10 bands of all time; that is true (their post-hiatus work notwithstanding, and which will not be discussed here, as I am unfamiliar with it and it is also for the most part irrelevant to their legacy).
Again, as David points out, blink-182 were deliberately juven

Box Ride Racer
Review Summary: Ever wondered where the newfound maturity on Blink 182's self titled album came from?
Thereâs no denying Blink-182 are one of the most influential pop punk bands to emerge out of the 90âs. Whether you love them or dislike them, they played an important role in influencing countless bands of the decade. Their sense of humor and the tag team vocals of Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus really made them upright out from the bunch. To this day bands of the genre proceed to cite Blink-182 as an influence in their music. However, Iâm terrified even some avid fans of the band contain yet to hear Tomâs side project, Box Auto Racer. Due to its signs of maturity, itâs sure to please fans of Blink-182s successful self titled effort.
Released in 2002, Box Car Racerâs self titled album was DeLongeâs attempt at creating a more rock oriented write down . It still has pop punk influences, but it definitely has more of a hard rock edge to it. For the most part Tomâs voice sounds unchanged. The biggest difference in the song however as compared to his usual work is in the guitars. The first real standout âAll Systems Goâ starts out with heavier

How do you sleep at night? Wake up and smell the apathy
Why don’t we hit the streets? Live life a little less carefree
Less “no”, more “YEAH!”, it seems we’re stuck at “maybe”
Not just a piece of the pie, we want the whole fucking bakery
Fuck fact-free politics ‘mockracy, I can’t assume the state we’re in
Our express ruled by hypocracy, we’re preaching moisture, drinking wine
Less “no”, more “YEAH!”
Let this be the soundtrack of how you change your existence, no-one will accomplish it for you
Let this be the soundtrack of how we transform our world, there’s only “us”
When was the last time you did something for the first time?
We’ll only regret things we didn’t do
How can you nurture so little about the world we live in?
Just because you don’t care doesn’t represent it doesn’t matter
I love these songs and books edging our minds like pencil sharpeners
There are no pros and cons to giving a shit when you’re in it for the message

Meet HeartLight Member Kim Budd
Kim became a HeartLight Member in September 2001.
Why did you join HeartLight?
I came to a couple of practices after my husband joined the chorus and found out about the HeartLight group. Even though we are a unbent couple, I felt concrete acceptance there and wanted to learn more about how to support the mission of the chorus. I loved getting to know the members and we have made some great, lasting friendships through this group. I’m not a religious person, but I believe we were led to join this group, and it has made a difference in our lives over the last twenty years.
What anthem makes you happy?
A lyric that makes me content is Everything Possible. I know that seems odd because I most often hear it at funerals, but it makes me happy because it talks about how love lasts long after we are gone. I love that legacy.
What are you looking forward to after the pandemic?
I like my residence but I’m ready to get out of here! I look forward to seeing family and chorus members and getting some HUGS!! I really suffer from my sister and I’m ready to go on a quilting retreat!
Mark Hoppus From Blink-182 Interview [Reddit]
One of the superb things about Reddit, is that just about about any celebrity, whether they're crazy popular or had their 15 minutes of fame on the internet, can create a "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) and transmit with their fans. Earlier today, bassist and co-vocalist of Blink-182 made an appearance on the site and had a 90 minute conversation with the /r/Music redditors. Here are some highlights that were compiled by Helpful_Table_Maker. For the entire interview, visit the discussion over here.
Is the song 'Fighting the Gravity' a reference to your hair?
Fighting the weight is about a night a drawn-out time ago where someone put something in my cocktail. i had no idea what was happening and mind i was dying. the whole nature felt malicious and angry. i could barely move from the immensity of the earth's yank. i got into my girlfriend's vehicle and said, ""please, just drive."" no me gusta.
Do you guys still store in touch with Scott?
I have not spoken to scott in a very long time. too long.
Coming from one of the guys who made pop-punk what it is today, what's you're opinion on the genre nowadays?
