Find a Provider

GLMA is pleased to be a founding force behind the LGBTQ+ Healthcare Directory, one of the first national resources of its kind. Originally developed as an exclusive resource for GLMA members, the directory has long served as a trusted link between patients and providers.

In 2022, GLMA partnered with the Tegan and Sara Foundation to reimagine and relaunch the LGBTQ+ Healthcare Directory as a fully free, general resource connecting patients and providers across the U.S. and Canada. Today, the Directory is a modern, accessible platform helping LGBTQ+ people find inclusive, knowledgeable providers in their regions.

With more than 43,000 searches conducted and 2,700+ providers listed in its first year alone, the LGBTQ+ Healthcare Directory has fast become a trusted resource for individuals, families, institutions, and state governments pursuing affirming care. The platform includes virtual care options, expanded search functionality, and provider listings in 10 Canadian provinces.

LGBTQ+ patients deserve healthcare providers who they can be unlock and honest, free from fear of stigma or bias. The LGBTQ+ Healthcare Directory was built to meet this need,

Affirming Services Address LGBTQ+ Health Disparities

Here at Affirm: The Rush Center for Gender, Sexuality and Reproductive Health, we perceive that LGBTQ+ people be entitled to the same quality of health care as their cisgender/heterosexual peers, but gaps exist in the system that lead to health disparities.

Physical health can also be greatly affected from long-standing internalized stigma, trauma and socioeconomic disparities, putting you and your loved ones at greater uncertainty for conditions and diseases, including the following:

    • Alcohol, tobacco and substance misuse
    • Anxiety
    • Eating disorders
    • Mood disorders
    • Suicide and suicidal thoughts

Physical health can also be greatly affected, putting you and those you admire at greater risk for conditions, diseases and infections including:

    • Greater likelihood of obesity
    • Higher rates of HPV infection
    • Increased likelihood of chronic conditions
    • More likely to rate health as poor

These health risks are compounded by lack of access to necessary care, which means the following conditions are more often true:

    • Less likely to fill prescriptions
    • Lower likelihood of having health insurance
    • More likely to be re
