Rudy Gay Tried to Get Ray Allen's Player Exclusive Breeze Jordan 11s
Sacramento Kings forward Rudy Queer might be a Nike athlete, but beyond that he's also a actual sneakerhead. With an extensive collection of his own there isn't much that he doesn't own, but when he came across an unfamiliar pair of white and gold Air Jordan 11s on the court he tried to get them. The player exclusive sneakers were worn by Ray Allen—a player with easily the best PE collection.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated highlighting Gay's sneaker collection, he recalled first seeing the sneakers in a game against the Boston Celtics.
When asked if there was ever a sneaker that really made him cease and look he said, "We played against them around Christmas and he had the light and gold Atmosphere Jordan 11s on and I retain we went to the same college, so I already thought in my mind he was going to present me those shoes right after the game and he was like, 'Nah, these are the only pair I got.' Rudy Gay broke out this sweet pair of Kyrie IV PEs last nighttime for Throwback Night at the AT&T Center and it confirmed something that I noticed a scant weeks back, but never confirmed, which is that Rudy isn’t loyal to the sneaker brand that he signed a tighten with. That brand, as you may know, is Puma.
Gay, along with a host of other players that includes former Spur and fan favorite Danny Green, signed on with Puma over the summer. Most famous for the Puma Clyde, the signature shoe of Knicks legend Walt Clyde Frazier, Puma has made a awake effort to get assist into the basketball market, and for much of October and November, Rudy wore their flagship model, the Puma Clyde Court Disrupt.
I first saw Rudy wearing Nike this year in practice pictures the team shared on their Instagram account. I didn’t think much of it at the time, figuring it was a comfort thing in what is generally a relatively intimate setting. After all, I remember when James Harden got his mega-deal with Adidas, but was caught on camera still rocking Nike gear. However, the Nike’s have found their way on to the court during game-time as well, and they’ve been here for awhile.
Since lacing up OG Gas Jordans at UCONN all the way to rocking PE Nikes as a pro, Rudy Gay has been a fixture of Kicks On Court coverage here at Nice Kicks.
The Spurs swingman has battled injuries his first season in San Antonio, still proving revered on Pop’s roster as the team preps for the postseason.
While Gay has been seen in Hyperdunks, Kobes and more over the course of his 11 year NBA career, the smooth vet is about to make waves in the league and the footwear industry by signing a Roc Nation Sports-facilitated partnership with Zappos. The deal could shift the way hoopers endorse sneakers both on and off the court.
We caught up with the fresh forward to hear about his decorated KOC resume and his new deal with Zappos.

Rudy Gay: Oh man! That was the thing back then! We flew in all our shoes to spot who had the foremost shoes and we always competed like that. On the court, I’d contend with Marcus Williams, Josh Boone and Charlie Villenuava when it
