Gay cruise movie
A big and beautiful boat pulls out of the harbor. You’re seeing it from above—perfectly still, azure water surrounding the boat. Two swimming pools, bodies moving on deck. The skyline of Barcelona in the distance. It’s The Cruise—Europe’s biggest gay cruise, produced by La Demence (one of Europe’s optimal gay parties) and the setting for documentary Dream Boat which premiered this weekend at the Berlinale International Film Festival.
The film follows a handful of alternative characters on the cruise. With nearly 3,000 queer men on board, there’s plenty of opportunity for freedom, love and happiness but the stories that come out are all a little bit diverse. Dipankar from India escaped an arranged marriage at home and now works in Dubai, but still doesn’t act or feel 100% out (he says he’s only 60% comfortable creature out in Dubai). Another man, Ramzi, is from Palestine but has lived in Belgium for a third of his being and is traveling with his partner. You can notice the microphone!
I absolutely approve with everything in the previous review. This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
However, I would fancy to point out one egregious fact - the boom microphone is noticeable throughout about a third of the movie. You think I'm kidding.
It seems impossible in this afternoon and age, when people spend millions of dollars on a movie (good or bad), that they would allow production and distribution of a 'film' in which there is a microphone hanging down into the shot in many scenes throughout. It should be illegal.
However, it made the movie far more watchable. Rather than pay attention to the cheesy dialogue, offensive characters, and lack of plot, my friends and I watched the top of the screen and cracked up every time we saw the microphone appear into view. Thanks, Brian.

I really don't get this...
First of all, I'm male lover, watching some movie where are gays aren't dying of AIDS or either suffering for being out or almost out of the closet is a change, a good one at that. Said that, I'm puzzled with this, the kind of same-sex attracted men this movie portraits a men
Boat Trip - A Gay Cruise
Boat Trip is a comedy about a pair of linear men - Cuba Gooding Jr and Horatio Sanz - who are looking for a savage time but mistakenly end up on a gay cruise.
If you're at all sensitive to gay issues, you need to be warned that this is a very "childish" comedy. The pair of men start out VERY anti-gay and are completely upset at having to be even near homosexual people for any length of moment. There are also many stereotypes here, played for laughs. There are massive penis ice sculptures, numerous ejaculation scenes and jokes, banana scenes, you mention it. This production earned its R rating.
But that all being said, there are a number of laughs in here, and the characters act mature, at least a bit. Cuba has to be slapped in the head even at the end - but you execute get a delighted ending. Roger Moore plays a wonderful older gay bloke and shows that he really does have a friendly way with comedy.
The ship was mostly done on sound stages in Germany, but they did use an Olympia cruise ship for some of the shots. As you can notice in the movies, the ships hold nice sunning areas - but there's no guarantee that Swedish tanning teams will be on board!

Two friends are tricked into vacationing on an all-gay cruise ship.
Right, there is absolutely no way this movie is getting anything other than one star. After all, it's a movie starring Cuba Gooding Jr.. And that fat git from Saturday Darkness Live (Sanz). It also has one of the most lame plots in the history of lame plots, as the pair - the former having been dumped by his girlfriend (Vivica A. Fox) - head off on a "shagadelic" cruise, only to bring to light (wait for it) that it's actually a GAY cruise!
It doesn't matter either that Roger Moore cuts quite a dash as a predatory old lech, pinching pert buns and muttering, "Well, hellooo" rather a lot. Or that love interest Roselyn Sanchez a) looks like Sandra Bullock with quadruple the sexy genes and b) spends the majority of the running time wearing what appears to be a belt.
No sirree, this horseshit's getting nothing more than one luminary. This reviewer has at least a little dignity left. Oh, what the hell...
